We refuse
the clichés.
No poverty. No safaris. No staged scenes. No outsider’s gaze.
AfroStocker was built on one idea: show Africa as it truly is — modern, creative, proud, alive.
Born on the road,
in 2015.
It started with a simple observation: when you searched for African images online, you found the same clichés over and over. Poverty. Dust. Distance. An Africa seen from the outside, never from within.
In 2015, Abdoulaye Sissoko started capturing moments during his travels across West Africa — Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau. Not with professional cameras. With borrowed phones. Shared between friends and villagers along the road.
Those raw, honest images — markets, hands, faces, food, crafts, daily life — became the foundation of AfroStocker. A library built from the inside.
Become the world reference
for authentic African visuals.
AfroStocker is not a stock photo agency. It’s a cultural platform. Every image is a document, a story, a moment of real African life that deserves to exist — without filters, without staging, without compromise.
We cover the Africa that moves: gastronomy, craftsmanship, heritage, nature, fishing, pottery, art — and soon: business, youth, fashion, street life, creativity, tech.
West Africa is our home. Africa is our horizon.
